Pools out for the summer!
Bring that holiday feeling into your garden
There is no doubt that taking the plunge and having a swimming pool installed in your garden is a pretty big undertaking. However Kiwi Building have all the experience and expertise needed to help guide, steer and implement the right pool choices regarding your home and budget to create your ultimate garden accessory.
If you are considering adding a pool to your property, planning is important. There are many things that need to be taken into consideration before taking the plunge and possibly the most important factor is understanding the main purpose of the pool. Is it to entertain the children, is it an architectural feature, or is it a relaxing retreat? Considering these basic questions when planning a pool helps to establish a clear sense of purpose that will in turn help in all subsequent areas of your planning.
Pools need planning
Not only will it be a significant financial investment, the construction of your pool will take in the region of 3-4 months and so it is important to be prepared for this. Whilst outdoor swimming pools do not generally require planning permission (unless your home is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, located within a green belt, is a listed building or is within a conservation area) they are subject to building regulations and can also have an impact on your buildings insurance cover.
Other key things to consider are what to include in the wider landscaping remit. Space for ample seating, tanning ledges, lighting, planting schemes and, if space and budget permits, maybe even a pool house!
